Taking Stock of 2023

With less than 24 hours left until the year draws to a close, I sit down to take stock. It’s been quite an adventurous year, to be honest. With a lot of writing. And I mean a lot. Like, lose your mind and answer questions in animal noises a lot.

I got to work on numerous exciting and creative projects that will see the light of day in due time (most probably when I’ve forgotten all about them), finished my PhD thesis, got academic papers published, started a Greek podcast on the history of Western Esotericism and even managed to push out an artistic nude photography book on top of everything else. All in all, not a bad haul for a measly span of 365 days.

If anything, I’m grateful for the new friends I made along the way; as well as for the old ones who stuck by me and together we reinforced so many inside jokes.

It’s the little things, really, that stick with you from each passing year. The beers, the laughs, the talks, the walks, the kisses and the secrets. I know of nothing better to mark the passing of time or to make the days memorable.

Have a happy New Year, everyone!
